…the plans for the new Waltham Abbey Festival of Light (WAFoL), which are moving on apace.

These include, among other things, a re-routing of the cavalcade as well as some community Carol singing outside the church!

Our specific contribution to the week long events (commencing on the last Friday in November) is to cajole, encourage, ask or plead with all our town centre businesses to join in with the annual Christmas Window competition.

Every year we have a theme, and the winners from those greatly appreciated entrants are awarded with a prize, a certificate and local press publicity.

This year we have simplified the theme. It is just ‘lights’, so everyone can join in!

We want to see the town lit like never before, making the whole Cavalcade event, as well as the before and after, something special.

So do please join in with the whole town effort and decorate your window with all the lights you can muster.

Obviously there will be a basic Christmas theme, but just lights will be great.

The whole town will greatly appreciate your efforts, which is just part of the planned rejuvenation of our lovely old town.

THANK YOU in anticipation!
